YAKIMA AREA ARBORETUM – 2024 AUTUMN BOUNTY

CATHOLIC CHARITIES RESOURCE FAIR

September 14, 11am-3pm

5301 Tieton Drive

Catholic Charities will be hosting a free public resource fair on Saturday, September 14. 

More than 20 booths from Catholic Charities and other partner organizations will be at the event to answer questions about available services.  There will also be free food, music, and family-friendly activities at the event. The resource fair will be held on the Catholic Charities South lawn at 5301 Tieton Drive from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  https//:catholiccharitiescw.org


Suds Against Suicide

September 14, 5-9pm

The Chainsaw Cat, 5-9pm, 509 W. Yakima Avenue.

A portion of the proceeds go to the Washington State Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

1st ANNUAL RED KETTLE “RIDE FOR A REASON” BIKE RIDE

Saturday, September 14th

Check in at 9am

Hosted by The Yakima Salvation Army Advisory Board, families are invited to a fun and leisurely bike ride along Naches Greenway. Choose between a 3-mile or 6-mile ride along the Naches Greenway.  The event includes prizes awarded in various categories, a bike parade, and lunch will be available at the end of your ride.  Check in at 9:00am at Naches Train Station; a map of the bike routes will be posted at the event. Whitman Hill Winery – 2911 Roza Drive, Zillah

Whitman Hill Winery, in partnership with North Star Lodge of the Memorial Foundation, presents the 2nd annual Crush for Cancer event. Thirty percent of wine bottle purchases during the week of September 16th through September 22nd, both online and in the tasting room, will be directly contributed toward North Star Lodge. Whitman Hill is also hosting an intimate coursed wine dinner the evening of Friday the 20th. Crush for Cancer culminates in the main event on Saturday, September 21st with many opportunities to donate and contribute to the cause, such as a floating luminary memorial and a special wine label series. YWCA – POWER OF THE PURSE

Friday, October 4th 5-8pm.  Valley Mall in Union Gap

Power of the Purse, a signature YWCA fundraising initiative, supports Financial Literacy, Financial Education and Financial Empowerment for families who have experienced domestic violence in the Yakima Valley. This glamorous event includes a silent and live auction of new and used luxury purses, a selection of grab and go handbags, and other accessories guests can purchase.

OKTOBERFEST AT CASCADE GARDENS

Sunday, October 20, 11am-5pm, 5704 W. Washington Avenue, Yakima

 The event promises delicious German food and drinks, local live musicians, hand-crafted artisan vendors, and more. A portion of all proceeds benefit Voices for Children, our local foster children program.
